Behavioral Health Specialist - Adult 3 - FHWV - 1.0 FT D/W (8a-4:30p)
Under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Head Nurse, the Behavioral Health Specialist maintains a safe and therapeutic environment; provides direct psychosocial and physical nursing care to patients, in both individual and group settings; and implements the program schedule according to the patient’s individual treatment plan.
High School diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Two years of experience in the human services field preferred. A Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field will be considered in lieu of experience. Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and family members/significant others; demonstrates verbal and written communication skills and the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise and legible form; ability to interface with all disciplines; ability to organize and prioritize multifaceted workload; exercises tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times.
BLS required, must be completed prior to end of orientation period; must possess a valid driver’s License.
