Job Description

Job Summary 

The Support Services Specialist maintains procedural standards for a multitude of processes in both host systems while ensuring Internal Audit Guidelines are being met, guided by Accounts Receivable Leadership and the objectives of the SSC. The position serves as a support liaison between internal users, vendors, and the Information Systems/Technology department and investigates and identifies the root cause of moderately complex user, application, and hardware issues. This position's goals are met through professional communication, confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. The Support Service Specialist position is on-site at the Fort Smith, Arkansas, Shared Services Center facility. 


Essential Functions

  • Completes accurate and timely reconciliation of various SSC and vendor processes through accounts receivable analysis.
  • Completes tasks related to Medhost support, such as: Net Down, Reclass, Log Reconciliation, etc.
  • Uses working knowledge of insurance payors, including: understanding of deductibles, coinsurance, contractuals and denials and correctness of adjustment transactions in both host systems.
  • Assists with tasks outside of normal scope by adapting and prioritizing workflow.
  • Remains compliant with SSC, CHS and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED High School Degree or Equivalent required
  • Associate Degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or Finance preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in the healthcare revenue cycle or business office required
  • 2-4 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or business office preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Word Processing and Database software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and similar applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
