This is a full time Clinical Nurse Leader ( Charge Nurse ) position working day shift in the MSICU at Northwest Medical Center.
What you'll do:
The Registered Nurse Clinical Nurse Leader participates in increased levels of care in a dynamic Medical Surgical ICU setting that provides quality care to higher acuity patients and is responsible and accountable to the Department Director for the coordination and effective operation of the unit on the assigned shift. CNL Performs duties in the nursing capacity as needed and is qualified. Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area. Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift. Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources.
The Registered Nurse Clinical Nurse Leader in the 20 bed MSICU participates in increased levels of care in a dynamic Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting that provides quality care to higher acuity patients such as those with ARDS, Sepsis, CIWA, Stroke, Craniotomy, s/p codes, COVID, Abdominal/GI -perforated bowel, ENT, General post - Surgical recovery, Respiratory Failure, Renal Failure, Hypothermia Protocol, Arterial/Central/Dialysis Catheters, MODS- Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome and ALL types of Shock
Job Summary
The RN Charge oversees the operations of a nursing unit during assigned shifts, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of high-quality patient care. This role supervises nursing staff, coordinates care with healthcare teams, and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies while fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development.
