Job Description

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center has an opening for a Full Time Cardiovascular First Assistant!

As a Cardio First Assistant at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients. 

The Cardio First Assistant must promote good public relations for the department and Poplar Bluff RMC while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality. Medical Technologists are responsible for:

  • Provides direct support to surgeons during surgical procedures.
  • Positioning and prepping patients prior to surgery.
  • Ensures clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors, sponges to control bleeding.
  • Close surgery sites to and properly dressing wounds.
  • Collaborate with doctors and other surgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients.
Education / License / Certification:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a certified surgical technician program and a recognized first assistant training program.
  • 0-1 year experience
