Job Summary
The Quality Coordinator supports quality and compliance activities by coordinating workflows, maintaining documentation, and assisting with quality improvement initiatives. This role works with clinical and operational teams to support adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Coordinator helps track quality-related activities, supports reporting processes, and ensures timely follow-up on identified gaps to promote consistent and compliant operations.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates quality-related workflows and activities to support compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Tracks and follows up on quality measures, including patient outreach and documentation needs, to support closure of care gaps.
- Maintains quality-related documentation, reports, and logs to support audits, assessments, and compliance activities.
- Reviews quality reports and identifies items requiring follow-up, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Supports medical record reviews and audits by gathering required documentation and ensuring completeness.
- Assists with monitoring of quality metrics and prepares routine reports for review by leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaborates with clinical and operational teams to support adherence to quality workflows and documentation standards.
- Provides guidance to staff on established quality processes and tools, reinforcing standard practices.
- Supports ongoing process improvement efforts by identifying workflow gaps and communicating opportunities for enhancement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in quality improvement, population health, or clinical operations within a healthcare setting required
- Experience in working with payer quality programs and regulatory reporting preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of healthcare quality processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Ability to track, organize, and maintain quality-related data and documentation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clinical and operational teams.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and follow established procedures for resolution or escalation.
- Strong attention to detail and organization in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA preferred or
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure preferred or
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure preferred
- CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred
