Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with surgical and telemetry experience to join our team for a full time day shift position! Our surgical unit is a new 15 bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care to treat elective surgical procedures and general med/surg telemetry patients. Our highly skilled team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to keeping our patients and their family healthy.

Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

 

Position Overview

 

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with surgical and telemetry experience to join our team for a full time day shift position! Our surgical unit is a new 15 bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care to treat elective surgical procedures and general med/surg telemetry patients. Our highly skilled team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to keeping our patients and their family healthy.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
  • Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
  • Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas, or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact

  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum of two (2) years of surgical and telemetry experience in an acute care hospital setting
