Job Description

The Vice President reports to the market CEO and leads the outreach strategy for the Northwest Health network. The VP is responsible for access to services and promoting and developing current and future services. The VP provides direct supervision and locally owns oversight of: the Transfer Center function, services, and the execution and outcomes therein; Provider Relations and similar growth-related personnel; and, any patient access points (e.g. Urgent Care Clinics, FSEDs, imaging centers, etc.) for the Network.

Lead, manage, and direct growth-related roles of Directors of Professional Outreach (DPO) & Directors of Clinical Outreach (DCO); Assist in prioritizing their efforts in alignment with the Corporate Provider Relations program and support, to maximize Provider Relations, enhance Specialist’s Referral Networks, and grow in-migration volume from non-Northwest Health entities.

Lead outreach strategies for the market in order to cultivate relationships and build affiliations with non-Northwest Health organizations

Develop and execute strategic initiatives for the Division’s affiliate hospitals which result in improved overall volumes, market share, operational efficiency, and earnings performance (i.e. revenue improvement, expense reduction, margin improvement)

Collaborate with other corporate functions such as managed care, acquisitions and physician practice services to drive improved performance

Utilize data to analyze market and industry trends in determining strategies for improved operational effectiveness

Co-lead service line directors (meetings) to align services line directors with market strategy

Chair Market Growth/Throughput Committee being responsible for all throughput strategies and services 

Attend Market/Regional market CEO meetings to present data driven results and strategies

Act as liaison between patient access and hospital operations with respect to Urgent Care, FSED, and Freestanding Imaging.

Seven (7) years of experience in a hospital setting to include ancillary and outpatient services; must have at least five years of progressive experience to include a director or administrator level

Must be comfortable taking a leadership role in the strategic development and management of an integrated matrixed health care delivery system

Possess the ability to organize and coordinate various activities with a focus on successful execution

Must demonstrate strong values, ethics and integrity

Be a multi-dimensional thinker with the capacity to communicate, think, plan and act strategically and operationally, without being locked into a traditional model of health care delivery
