The Scheduling Specialist provides scheduling services for inpatient, outpatient and/or diagnostic testing procedures. Works with related ancillary and surgical departments in scheduling and availability monitoring. Communicates and coordinates with related service lines to ensure continuity of patient care.
Three to five years of progressive administrative assistant experience within a healthcare setting is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point software programs, verbal and written communication, customer service, and schedule coordination.
One (1) year of hospital/medical office scheduling experience and understanding of medical terminology is required. Must be able to access needed follow-through on scheduling changes and updates as related to procedures and/or diagnostic testing. Must demonstrate ability to develop and maintain strong interdepartmental working relationships with the Medical Staff, Department Leaders, and Hospital Staff throughout the facility. Must exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills throughout patient and family populations the facility serves. Must be capable of working independently and autonomously. Position requires working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Excel and scheduling software.
Post-secondary education or vocational training in related field is preferred.
Completion of practical nursing program is preferred.
Notary Public designation is preferred
Maintain current state clinical licensure and/or certifications relevant to position (e.g. LPN state licensure).
