The Surgical First Assistant assists physicians in surgery and may perform specific significant surgical tasks under “professional supervision.” The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient. The RNFA practices perioperative care and must have acquired the necessary specific knowledge, skills and judgment.

REQUIREMENTS:  

• Completion of RNFA technology program; Completion of an assisting course
• Current credentialing as a Certified First Assistant
• Min. 1 year experience as RNFA
• Current FL RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS & Stroke Certifications
