Job Description

Plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit or during an assigned shift. Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor and/or manager. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

BSN preferred; Certification in current unit preferred; Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in the current unit; Charge nurse or other supervisory experience preferred.

All license and certifications required for the specified unit must be current
