The Massage Therapist provides treatment to rejuvenate and repair the muscles and soft tissues of the body to help manage medical conditions, injuries, or to maintain optimal wellness.
____1.Obtain clients’ medical histories to determine how massage will improve function/health.
____2. Assess clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality / function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
____3. Provide clients with general guidance regarding techniques for postural improvement, stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitation exercises.
____4. Develop client treatment plans regarding ideal durations and frequencies for optimal results.
____5. Implement appropriate infection control policies to safeguard against disease transmission.

____7. Refer clients to other types of therapists when necessary.
____8. Prepare and blend oils to apply to client’s skin.

____10. Hold in confidence any patient information communicated or stored using any medium including oral communication and protect patient information from inadvertent use or disclosure.

Education and Formal Training Required:
Current and valid state license for massage therapy.
Two to three months of revenue-generating massage encounters. Must have reliable transportation and ability to manipulate various schedules. Must have an understanding of basic medical terminology.
EXPOSURE CONTROL LEVEL: X 1 2 _ 3
Must have current CPR Certification or obtain within the first six months of employment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds.
Some exposure to contagious disease through contact with patients.
