Join our team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Skilled Nursing Unit is now hiring a full-time RN Clinical Coordinator to work at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is an 18 bed unit in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. Opportunities to work with the geriatric population as well as rehab for many post acute needs including surgical, neuro, cardiac and more. Employees in this units report directly to the Director of SNU. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Responsible for the coordination of the clinical, educational, planning, development,implementation, and evaluation of all components of the assigned Unit. Is responsible for developing, directing, coordinating, and implementing unit care policies and procedures throughout the organization. Acts as a resource person and consultant to all patient care areas regarding patient care, problem solving, identification, and correction of problems as related for Unit patient.

Schedules employee shifts and ensures admitting and discharge functions are providing for optimal patient flow. Ensures that hospital resources are being used in the most efficient manner. Assigns patients to appropriate health practitioners. May perform other administrative functions as necessary. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks that require a certain degree of creativity and latitude. Serves as the MDS back-up and assists with referrals to convert into admission. Assists SNU director with Quality Assurance Projects and compliance with chart documentation. 

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program. 
  • Licensed as an R.N. by the Texas State Board of Registered Nurse Examiners.
  • CPR required. 
  • 2 years relevant clinical experience required.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation.
  • Preferably SNU experience as an RN.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
