Job Description

CT Tech Following established protocol and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, CT technologists will produce computerized tomography scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed by the physician in order to interpret and diagnose patient disease or injury. Technologists will assist the radiologists on procedures as needed and be responsible for supervision of student Radiologic Technologists assigned to them. Encourages and maintains good customer relations. Experience: One year of experience as a CT Technologist

Job Summary: 

Under the direction of the department manager/Director, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients.  Follows all ACR guidelines and maintains proper radiation dosing to all patients.

 

Population served:
• Pediatric (1-12 years)
• Adolescent (13-17 years)
• Adult (18 years to 69 years)
• Geriatric (70 years and older)

 

Reports to: Diagnostic Imaging Director

Education: 

Completion of a 2 or more year Radiologic Technologist program in an AMA approved school.

Experience: One year or more experience as a CT Technologist preferred.  A working knowledge of the CT equipment is necessary.  Additional on the job training will be conducted. 

Licenses/Certifications:

ARRT; BLS certification, Registered in CT within 6 months of employment.  Must be licensed in the State of Florida.

 
Typically requires a high school diploma, completion of radiologic technology training and A.R.R.T. registration, and 0-2 years of experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
