RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or Cath Lab Radiology

The radiologic technologist specializes in assisting with invasive cardiac procedures and other procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The radiologic technologist is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients, under the direction Cardiology Director, for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the nursing process, environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.

The radiologic technologist specializes in assisting with invasive cardiac procedures and other procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The radiologic technologist is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients, under the direction Cardiology Director, for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the nursing process, environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein. All services will be provided in accordance with the hospital policies and procedures, with a focus on superior customer service. This unit functions 630a.m. to 3p.m. Monday thru Friday, but not limited to these hours or days as volume and schedule warrants. The crew will serve in a rotating on call schedule to cover after hours and callback as assigned by the Supervisor/Director. This position reports directly to the Cardiology Director.  

For technical service or questions, this entity will have access to the Radiology Director/ Medical Radiology Director position.
Will be required to participate in a rotating call schedule and be able to physically respond to the facility within 30 minutes of contact.. Works under immediate supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Associate's degree. Bachelors degree preferred from an accredited program and registration as a technologist by the A.R.R.T. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field and 3-5 years of experience.  Current BLS.  Current ACLS or must obtain within 9 months of hire or transfer.
