Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team! This is a full time day shift position. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs all aspects of the cardiopulmonary services department including diagnostic testing of the cardio-pulmonary system according to policy and procedures under the direction of the Medical Director, Department Director and Supervisor.

Position Overview

 

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team! This is a full time day shift position.

 

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs all aspects of the cardiopulmonary services department including diagnostic testing of the cardio-pulmonary system according to policy and procedures under the direction of the Medical Director and Department Director.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders
  • Collects and analyzes blood to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases
  • Responds to emergency situations
  • Maintains competencies to ensure compliance with all regulatory statutes
  • Administers medication and treatments in accordance with policies
  • Makes rounds to adequately maintain patient’s equipment, therapeutic listings
  • Reports identified unusual patient conditions/reactions to immediate supervisor
  • Prepares electronic documentation of all work/service rendered and provides written/verbal report to oncoming staff
  • Performs quality control on all cardiopulmonary equipment
  • Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
  • Maintains safe environment
  • Addresses patient population-specific needs
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required
  • Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Permit - Required upon Hire
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required upon hire
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required upon Hire
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required within 90 Days of hire
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required within 90 Days of hire
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Required within 90 Days of hire
  • Minimum one (1) year of adult and pediatric critical care experience
