***Registered Nurse Med/Surg - Full Time Nights*** Seeking teachable, growth-oriented Registered Nurse/RNs to work in a TEAM environment where EVERY nurse is valued and necessary to deliver the HIGHEST level of nursing care and support our patients have come to expect when they CHOOSE DeTar for their medical needs

Our Full Time Med/Surg 5E RN team members provide direct patient care including treatments, activities, nourishment, drugs, and parenteral therapy safely and competently to the medical, cardiac, or surgical patient. Carries out physician orders to ensure patient care is complete. Abides by policy and procedure of the hospital and established routines to assure quality care is provided. Gives patient assignments and supervises the care of others when in charge. THIS bedside nursing role allows for variety, education, and growth opportunities for the NEW nurse, as well as TENURED nurses interested in optimizing the patient experience while staying busy and honing skills. The right team member will be a motivated, self-starter, who appreciates efficiency and order with an ability to confidently make decisions regarding patient care. An OR nurse will provide care for patients prior to, during, and after invasive surgery or medical procedures. They also work with the patient's family members by relaying information that could be of importance to them. If you are a confident and capable RN who enjoys a detailed environment focusing on the case at hand, while providing care to multiple patients throughout your shift, then our OR may be a good fit for you! Job Duties:

  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
  • Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
  • Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required within 90 days of hire. 
  • TNCC required within one year of hire
  • A minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an acute care setting preferred 
  • Charge experience a plus

This position may be BONUS eligible AND offers a competitive and clear salary structure, beginning at $30.16 for NEW RNs with a step process for nurses with 5 years of licensure (offering $33.30), 10 years of licensure (offering $36.77), and 15 years of licensure (offering $40.61). Requirements:

  • TX RN license (or Compact)
  • Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelors preferred
  • BLS certification, ACLS preferred
