*Schedule: Full-time status, 40 hours per week
Under the leadership of the Patient Access Director provides appropriate guidance on a day-to-day basis to Patient Access Coordinators in the performance of all duties related to the registration process for hospital services. Performs first line management operations with the department including planning, staffing, disciplining, evaluation, problem-solving and other tasks as assigned. Fulfills responsibilities of assigned staff on an ongoing basis, coordinating the patient access process with physicians, nursing and other service areas while promoting guest satisfaction. Responsible for review and maintenance of department staffing. Required to take call rotation including Holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications
Licensure: CPI within 90 days of hire.
Experience: Two years progressively experience within collections and or hospital registration experience required. Prior experience in leadership a plus.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree strongly encouraged. Business or related field or equivalent years of experience.
Demonstrates good use of the English language, both verbal and written as well as working knowledge of medical terminology.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills in order to interact effectively with all customers in a variety of situations. Demonstrates ability to evaluate a variety of guest situations and make independently or with appropriate assistance.
Demonstrates ability to work in fast-paced deadline oriented environment where proven ability to meet deadlines and constant communication are required.
Demonstrates ability to create an atmosphere that promotes professionalism yet caring and empathy to the individual, so that the guest has confidence in the organization's ability to resolve the need. Is able to defuse the upset or distressed guest and obtain their confidence in the organization's ability to create a resolution regarding all guest interactions for both clinical and financial activities.
