LPN - Surgery - 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM

The Licensed Practical Nurse takes direction from a Registered Nurse. The L.P.N. assists with formulating and implementing an individual plan of nursing care for each patient. This position utilizes the Nursing Process, for patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric, and is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect total nursing care of patients during the perioperative phase. This position requires knowledge and application of circulating and/or scrubbing skills necessary to assist in the performance of surgical procedures. The L.P.N. will act as a preceptor to team members who are expanding their knowledge scrubbing.

Education: 

• Must have the required education needed to be a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Experience:

• One (1) year clinical nursing experience preferred.
• LPN III Status requires ability to competently scrub at least eight (8) of the ten (10) surgical specialties.
• On Site Training for non-surgical experienced LPN's 

Licenses/Certifications:

• Must have State of Alabama LPN Licensure.
• Must maintain current BLS certification.
