Performs specimen processing and testing as a generalist in all areas of the clinical laboratory. Responsible for test reporting, quality control and instrument maintenance according to established procedures, to aid in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease. Adheres to all regulatory and facility policies and procedures.

• Performs generalist laboratory testing duties in:  Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology
• Performs quality control and instrument maintenance 
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues with specimens and test procedures
• Able to analyze data and resolve issues with quality control and instrument failures
•  Performs all duties according to established procedures, and adheres to all regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or nationally recognized certification for Medical Technology (ASCP, HEW, ABOR, or AMT, NCA, AAB, and other accredited agencies). Must also currently hold or be eligible for Indiana licensure as MT or MLT.
