Registered Nurse - PCU Full Time Seeking teachable, growth-oriented RNs to work in a TEAM environment where EVERY nurse is valued and necessary to deliver the HIGHEST level of nursing care and support our patients have come to expect when they CHOOSE DeTar for their medical needs Provides direct patient care including treatments, activities, nourishment, drugs, and parenteral therapy in a safe and competent manner to the medical, cardiac or surgical patient. Carries out physician orders to ensure patient care is complete. Abides by policy and procedure of hospital and established routines to assure quality care is provided. Gives patient assignments and supervises care of others when in charge.
The right team member will be a motivated, self-starter, who appreciates efficiency and order with an ability to confidently make decisions regarding patient care. An OR nurse will provide care for patients prior to, during, and after invasive surgery or medical procedures. They also work with the patient's family members by relaying information that could be of importance to them. If you are a confident and capable RN who enjoys a detailed environment focusing on the case at hand, while providing care to multiple patients throughout your shift, then our OR may be a good fit for you! This position may be BONUS eligible AND offers a competitive and clear salary structure, beginning at $30.16 for NEW RNs with a step process for nurses with 5 years of licensure (offering $33.30), 10 years of licensure (offering $36.77), and 15 years of licensure (offering $40.61). Current Texas licensure to practice professional nursing.
Current BCLS certification or obtained during the first week of orientation.
Knowledgeable in basic nursing skills.
Proficient in drug types, interactions and reference materials.
Knowledgeable to give medications and perform duties of a RN.
Specific knowledge of medical terminology to be able to understand and carry out physician orders.
Specific knowledge of the basic principles of the nursing field and their applications to be able to understand and carry out the duties of a staff nurse.
General knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, and grammar to be able to do drug calculations and properly document patient care.
Specific knowledge of nursing principles and patient care procedures in order to communicate properly with patients, staff, and physicians.
General knowledge assures physician orders are carried out effectively.
