Mechanic IV - Engineering - 1.0 FT D/R/W

Mechanic IV performs or assists in performing maintenance and repair programs, involving machines, tools, electrical/mechanical devices, electrical distribution, HVAC, motors, generators, refrigeration, and preventative maintenance program, etc.  Mechanic IV reports directly to the Supervisor of Engineering.

Two (2) years formal concentrated study (Associates Degree or specialized vocational /technical training) or five (5) years’ experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc. required

Minimum three (3) years experience in area of specialization and general institutional maintenance recommended.  The individual must exhibit technical expertise, manual dexterity, mechanical ability, and the ability to react properly to crises and emergency situations.  He must also be able to show sound judgment, independent thinking, good work initiative, and the ability to read blueprints, order supplies, and make temporary repairs by fabricating parts when necessary.

Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.
