Job Description

Assists with patient care in the emergency department (ED) under the direction of the registered nurse (RN). Can perform emergency care procedures including assisting with Advanced Life Support (ALS) under the direction of the physician. Maintains proper channels of communication and keeps appropriate persons informed regarding patient's condition. Works in conjunction with RN and MD to provide safe patient care within the scope of practice and the limits of documented training. Graduate of an accredited program in paramedic science and with current state of North Carolina Paramedic Certification required. Requires EMT-P, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications. 3-5 years current paramedic experience preferred. Acute Care hospital experience preferred.

The medical campus includes 24-hour emergency medicine, a comprehensive center for surgical weight loss, women’s services and The Stork Landing Maternity Center, cardiology, oncology, and surgical services, including an orthopedic specialty center and an outpatient surgery center, with designation as an American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery (AIMIS) Center of Excellence.
