Job Description

The Float Pool RN is a clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who delivers care to the patient through utilization of the nursing process, which includes but is not limited to assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The Float Pool RN provides quality patient care in accordance with MVRMC policies and procedures and established patient care standards and practice.

? A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who delivers care to the patient through utilization of the nursing process, which include but is not limited to assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation.
? Provides quality patient care in accordance with MVRMC policies and procedures and established patient care standards and practice.

? Demonstrates and maintains the ability, flexibility and competence to care for patients in at least three different nursing departments. Is assigned in the either the day of work or prior to the day of work to the specific nursing department by the Administrative Nurse Manager. Reports directly to the Administrative Nurse Manager.

Education:

Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing

Experience:

Required: 
Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
Perferred: At least two (2) years of experience in an acute care hospital environment in direct patient care.

 

Licenses/Certificates:

Required: Current licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing or compact RN license
Required: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after one (1) full month of work
Required: Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after three (3) full months of work
Preferred: Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Preferred: Current CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) & TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum)
