Job Description

Assists RNs and physicians in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Functions under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse with direction of the nursing and medical director. Paramedics may perform patient care functions in accordance with their scope of practice under State law and in accordance with the Medical Center of South Arkansas policy/procedure

Medical Center of South Arkansas, accredited by Joint Commission, is a general acute-care Level III Trauma Center hospital licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health. Our 166-bed facility's inpatient services include emergency services, obstetrics and newborn care, pediatric care, intensive care, otolaryngology, general surgery, orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, SNF,  interventional cardiology, addiction management, and many other specialties. Telemedicine services include pulmonology, neurology and AR Saves stroke telemedicine. Outpatient services include a full service laboratory, speech, physical and occupational therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound care, and radiological services including, MRI, CT, digital mammography and more.

Education: High School Graduate or hold a GED certificate.
Graduate of a Paramedic Program w/ completed certification
Preferred: Critical Care Paramedic

Licenses/Certifications: Possess a current Paramedic Certification with the Arkansas Department of Health
Current BLS
Current ACLS and PALS (or ENPC) or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as a paramedic.
