Job Description

Community Health Systems is a leading operator of general acute care hospitals and outpatient care centers in communities across the United States. CHS affiliates own, lease or operate 83 affiliated hospitals in 16 states with an aggregate of approximately 13,000 licensed beds. Healthcare services are also provided in more than 1,000 outpatient sites of care including affiliated physician practices, urgent care centers, freestanding emergency departments, imaging centers, cancer centers, and ambulatory surgery centers.

Senior Analyst would support Risk Management Department in budgeting, Financial Reporting and developing Key Performance Indicators and associated reports across all lines of coverage and claim operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in completing Hospital Premium Budgets across all applicable lines of coverage. Particularly emphasis on HPL/PPL and WC.
  2. Participate in evaluating funding recommendations for captive programs. Review financial statements for those programs and assist in benchmarking and trend analysis.
  3. Run Key Performance Indicator “KPI” reports for HPL/PPL, Workers Comp, TX opt out program and other applicable lines of coverage. Create trend analysis reporting for department leadership and other stakeholders. Collaborate with PSO; develop claim data to support PSO.
  4. Develop facility for running metrics reports from Riskonnect and using loss runs (excel). Collaborate with senior leaders, TPA’s, brokers and vendors as needed.
  5. Assist risk leadership team with Data Analytics, Project Management and Systems Management (Riskonnect).
  6. Collaborate with Risk, Accounting and Finance team in calculation of Total Cost of Risk. Assist Risk team in identifying opportunities for expense savings and margin improvement.
  7. Liaison with Accounting, Finance and other stakeholders regarding the development and publication of performance and financial metrics to benchmark and assess risk management trending and performance.


Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Education: Masters or other advanced degree

Required Experience: minimum of 5 years of experience in business analytics
Preferred Experience: Experience in health-care related analytics

Computer Skills Required: Office, G-Suite and facility with excel.
