Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician reports to the Director of Pharmacy and works under the general supervision and direction of the staff pharmacists. Fills patient orders, automated dispensing machines, and manual fill reports. Processes patient charges and credits, delivers and returns patient medications, prepares sterile products and liquid and solid unit dose medications. Maintains pharmacy inventory of drugs and supplies. Provides general assistance to Staff Pharmacists.
Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
Completion of an accredited Sterile Products Training program
Experience
Preferred: One year hospital pharmacy experience
Licenses/Certificates
Required: Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or
Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT)
