Job Description

Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs. Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed. . Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires a two year allied health degree, successful completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound Technology, and at least 2

Requires registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

Graduate of a sonographer program. One (1) year of clinical Sonogram Technology experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) (or within 12 months of hire into the department).

On call scheduled as needed.

BLS Certification is required.
