Position Summary
Is responsible for planning, administration, and monitoring of consistent readiness of all quality, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement processes. Will assist with oversight and coordinating all hospital efforts to monitor and maintain compliance with all regulatory, State, Federal government, and The Joint Commission standards.
Furthermore, is responsible for assisting with the oversight of all quality TJC and regulatory requirements. Great communication, management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise express information in a written, auditory and visual fashion is essential. Written, telephone, and manual dexterity skills are required as well as good professional skills.
Responsibilities
- Assists with coordination of TJC, Department of Health, State Licensing and other accrediting surveys for all clinical and non-clinical departments.
- Assists with maintaining the QIO log is maintained and assures it is up to date and submitted to Corporate Survey Coordinator monthly.
- Reviews, analyzes and evaluates data from Infection Control, CHS Core Measures Results Reports, ORYX-Data Advantage Reports, Quality Net Reports THCIC Reports, CMS QIO data, Nursing Home Compare/Pro Tracking (if applicable) and relates the data analysis to the appropriate committees up to and including the Board.
- Assists with coordination of all TJC survey preparations and to assure a constant state of readiness through TJC Continuous Preparedness Team activities.
- Assures completion of policies, procedures, protocols, plans and annual appraisals for TJC required functions.
- Identifies and prioritizes opportunities for improvement, facilitates interdisciplinary teams in developing action plans, achieves measurable results, monitors results to ensure sustained improvements, and develops and presents meaningful reports.
- Assists with receiving Patient Satisfactions results, analysis, and determines opportunities for improvement referring to the appropriate committees/departments.
- Serves as a resources to all hospital departments for TJC standards, State and Federal regulations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Current Nursing License (Endorsement Eligible for the State of Texas) or other clinical healthcare license/degree.
- Preferred: BSN or Masters degree (in related field).
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in Quality fields in a public or private healthcare setting.
- Preferred: Three (3) years or more in an acute care facility and demonstrates a clear working knowledge of general hospital operations, TJC, OSHA, Medicare COP, and state requirements. Experience with coordinated TJC preparation in State and CMS surveys within the past three (3) years.
- Preferred: Acute care hospital experience.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Preferred: Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or other health care professional. Advance certificate and training preferred.
