Summary:
The Wireless Engineer will work with hospital local and corporate engineers in order to maintain, and build, a stable and usable wireless network for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Resolve issues and facilitate restoration of the client wireless networks. Possess the ability to low-level troubleshoot wireless networks.
- Perform project tasks as requested for wireless networking.. Coordinate with Project Management and partnering teams to assemble quotes, order/track/receive/assemble/test/stage new equipment
- Understanding of wireless authentication technologies including Radius, 802.1x , EAP-TLS, and pre-shared keys. ISE experience is a plus.
- The ability to perform wireless surveys to identify coverage gaps and to troubleshoot wireless networks.
- Knowledge and troubleshooting skills of advance networking concepts (IP, VLAN, Basic Routing, Subnetting)
- Develop and recommend solutions to enhance system performance and stability
- Work with third party vendors and assist with equipment configuration, placement and provide suggestions for optimal equipment performance
- Document every new and existing site with network diagrams, management IP addresses, hardware lists, backup running-configuration and other information needed to troubleshoot any wireless issues Come up to speed quickly on the existing architecture and design
- Other responsibilities deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications:
Required Education: High School
Preferred Education: Associates Degree
Required Experience:
- 1+ years' experience as a Wireless Network Engineer
- Experience with Cisco wireless networking.
- 1+ years of experience with 802.1x, RADIUS, EAP-TLS WLAN standards
Preferred Experience: 3+ years of experience with 802.1x, RADIUS, EAP-TLS WLAN standards
Required License/Registration/Certification: CCNA wireless or equivalent or equivalent experience
Preferred License/Registration/Certification: CCNP wireless
Computer Skills Required: Knowledge in google suite, Microsoft office
