Cath Lab Tech (Day Shift + Call) SUPER PRN - $60

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team for a PRN day shift position - 40 hrs/wk , plus call. The Cardiovascular Technologist (Cath Lab Tech) specializes in the utilization of invasive cardio vascular procedures under the direct supervision of cardiologists and radiologists. The Cath Lab Tech will function as part of the patient care team providing competent and compassionate care to a specialized group of cardiac patients. This healthcare provider will function as either a scrub tech or monitor tech in the cath lab with a focus on superior customer service.

Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team for a PRN day shift position - 40 hrs/wk, plus call. The Cardiovascular Technologist (Cath Lab Tech) specializes in the utilization of invasive cardio vascular procedures under the direct supervision of cardiologists and radiologists. The Cath Lab Tech will function as part of the patient care team providing competent and compassionate care to a specialized group of cardiac patients. This healthcare provider will function as either a scrub tech or monitor tech in the Cath lab with a focus on superior customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician in a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Scrub cases assisting cardiologists and radiologists
• Circulate & pre/post care in Cath Lab holding area
• Responsible for assisting with patient care during procedure and in post procedure area
• Performs operation of equipment used during procedure
• Performs digital archival technique and image duplication
• Performs inventory maintenance and supply ordering as directed
• Responsible for regulatory and compliance standards
• Performs accurate documentation and maintenance of procedural records
• Exhibits effective communication with patients, physicians, co-workers and other customers
• Demonstrates the ability to provide age specific care for the following patient populations: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Radiology, or related cardiovascular technology degree program
• Current Texas Department of State Health Services Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) License required within 90 days of hire (American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or Cardiovscular Credentialing International (CCI) certification may be accepted in lieu of MRT license)
• American Heart Association (AHA) approved courses in Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum of two (2) years of procedural experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory required
• Must be proficient in performing all invasive cardiac catheterization procedures
• Ability to be on-call as required
