Certified Surgical Technician - FT

POSITION PURPOSE

Surgical technologists assist surgeons during surgical procedures by anticipating surgeon needs to make sure the procedure is executed as smoothly and efficiently as possible. They prepare and organize the operating room, clean and sterilize equipment, and maintain a sterile environment. The scrub technician is responsible for assisting in nursing care and preparing the surgical patient by performing routine and delegated duties according to standards, policies and procedures, performing scrub duties and related procedures, and assisting Operating Room nursing personnel with nursing functions as directed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Graduate of a surgical technology program accredited by the Commission for the Surgical Technologist (LCC-ST) as evidenced by verification of certification.

Diploma or transcripts required upon hire.

Experience:

One year surgical technician experience preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross); current Surgical Technologist certification through NBSTSA.
