Job Description

The CV Quality Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of quality /performance improvement activities for the Cardiovascular Service line. He / She has primary responsibility for the American College of Cardiology - National Cardiovascular Data Registry (ACC-NCDR.) This responsibility includes program compliance; process establishment; physician and staff education and participation; national benchmarking and reporting of outcomes to physicians, staff and administration; data collection and entry into the appropriate data base program; and implementation of activities to improve outcomes. Works closely with Information Systems Department to provide modification to the data registry fields for tracking of internal patient outcomes and for transmission of information.

Works closely with director and clinical coordinators in the development, execution, ongoing, and annual evaluation of quality / performance improvement activities, departmental Policies / Procedures, and Standards. Responsible for assisting in education staff in PI activities and ACC-NCDR requirements. Assist with other quality initiatives/audits in the Quality Management Department to ensure regulatory preparedness and compliance.

Education REQUIRED: RN, BSN preferred.

Experience Preferred: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality / Performance Improvement, cardiac services and / or case management with documented activities in PI and outcomes monitoring; concurrent coding and / or accreditation activities coordination; must have excellent written and oral communication skill; must possess excellent data management skills including word processing, excel, graphic / statistical display and data base programs.

Licenses/Certificates REQUIRED: RN licensed to practice in Alabama.
