Job Description

The Registered Polysomnographic Technician is responsible for performing standard polysomnographic procedures in the assessment of physiologic functions during sleep in patients of all age groups from neonate to geriatric. Scoring of recorded data and compilation of reports for review and interpretation by the physician also included. Interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively with all customers. Verbal, written, organizational and analytical skills are necessary to resolve minor problems, seek out answers to questions, organize workloads according to priorities and evaluate information. Physician interaction is required concerning patients, problems, or other issues. Must remain awake and alert at all times throughout the night.

Must maintain a safe work environment. Must maintain a quiet environment while patients are sleeping. Must remain awake and alert at all times throughout the night. Must be a registered polysomnographic technologist or respiratory therapist.
