CT Techno I

Performs CT procedures and general radiography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Independently operates the equipment used for CT, digital radiography and CT 3D post processing. Operates equipment safely and maintains A.L.A.R.A. standards while performing all types of medical imaging procedures. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and medical staff. Must be A.R.R.T. and have State of Florida X-ray license.

What Does a CT Technologist?: As a CT Technologist with Lower Keys Medical Center, you will be responsible for…

• Obtaining patient history, explaining standard procedures, and addressing patient concerns.
• You will also produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures.
• Performing ultrasound techniques and examinations, i.e. abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization.
• The position will rely on you experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• You will be performing a variety of tasks, and working under general supervision.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Typically this position would report to a supervisor or manager.

Which Qualifications Do You Need?: In order to set you up for success, you need the basics of…

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist License required.
• Completion of radiologic technology training, and A.R.R.T. registration.
• Two years of experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this particular field.
