Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer to join our team! This is a PRN position. The Ultrasound Tech performs quality ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the Radiologist. Ensures quality images and interaction with the Radiologist.  Schedule one shift per week with call responsibilities Hospital and Free Standing ED.

Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

 

Position Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer to join our team! This is a Part Time Day Shift Position. The Ultrasound Tech performs quality ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the Radiologist. Ensures quality images and interaction with the Radiologist.  Performs radiology services “on call” as needed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Presents examination education to the patient prior to exam, gives post procedure instructions pertinent to the exam performed
  • Consistently obtains all Ultrasound exam information
  • Performs mobile Ultrasound as necessary
  • Performs Ultrasound independently, consults the Radiologist as necessary
  • Performs Ultrasound Interventional procedures utilizing sterile technique
  • Maintains equipment, cleans and disinfects probes after each patient
  • Assists the physicians with biopsies, drainage, etc
  • Maintains Ultrasound patient log book and collects data as necessary for statistics
  • Consistently labels body parts, correctly
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Associate's Applied Science in Sonography, or related field required
  • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification preferred
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved course in Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital setting with demonstrated knowledge of technical, diagnostic, and emergency procedures related to Imaging/Radiology
  • Must be willing to be on-call during after-hours, weekends and holidays, as necessary
