The right team member will be a motivated, self-starter, who appreciates efficiency and order with an ability to confidently make decisions regarding patient care. An OR nurse will provide care for patients prior to, during, and after invasive surgery or medical procedures. They also work with the patient's family members by relaying information that could be of importance to them. If you are a confident and capable RN who enjoys a detailed environment focusing on the case at hand, while providing care to multiple patients throughout your shift, then our OR may be a good fit for you! Job Duties:

  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
  • Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
  • Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required within 90 days of hire. 
  • TNCC required within one year of hire
  • A minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an acute care setting preferred 
  • Charge experience a plus

Requirements:

  • TX RN license (or Compact)
  • Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred
