Certified Scrub Tech- Labor and Delivery ( FT, Nights)

The OB Scrub Technician acts as a scrub person, handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and vaginal deliveries. The OB Scrub Technician, through active participation, assists in planning, implementing and ensuring quality patient care during the procedure. The OB Scrub Technician must promote good public relations for the department and Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville Center while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

The OB Scrub Technician acts as a scrub person, handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and vaginal deliveries. The OB Scrub Technician, through active participation, assists in planning, implementing and ensuring quality patient care during the procedure.  The OB Scrub Technician must promote good public relations for the department and Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville Center while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Education / License / Certification:

• High School graduate.
• Graduate of Surgical Technician School or 2 years experience as surgical scrub technician
• Certified Surgical Technician preferred (requires passing the certification boards)
• BLS Certification required

Experience / Skills:

• One year previous experience as a Surgical Technician
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to address patients, families and hospital personnel.
• Must be able to respond mentally, physically and appropriately to emergency situations
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, stressful environment
• Requires close concentration and attention to detail
