Responsible for providing care which includes the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the Cardiopulmonary system. Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
POSITION PURPOSE: | ||
Responsible for providing care which includes the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the Cardiopulmonary system. Assesses and educates COPD patients on techniques to reduce readmissions. Assist the Respiratory director with employee management. Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. | ||
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: | ||
Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program as evidenced by verification of state licensure. Diploma or transcripts required upon hire. | ||
Experience: Prefer one year of experience in a hospital or medically related environment. | ||
Licenses/Certificates: Must have current Tennessee State licensure for a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Certified in BLS upon hire (AHA or Red Cross). NRP, PALS and ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire. |
