Job Description

Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

 

Position Overview

We are in search of a FT CT Tech working 7p-7a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday plus call. The CT Tech assists the Radiologist on CT Guided biopsies and ensures images are of diagnostic quality and have technical quality. The CT Tech performs all CT assisted procedures and reconstructions, including patient care and handling and quality control procedures. The CT tech will also assists in the diagnostic radiography department, when needed and performs radiology services “on call” as needed.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns
  • Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures
  • Performs diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Procedures include, but are not limited to: all patient care and handling, quality control procedures, and all CT assisted procedures and reconstructions
  • Ensures images are of diagnostic quality and have technical quality
  • Applies principles of radiation protection and the ALARA principle
  • Assists in the diagnostic radiography department, as needed
  • Assist other staff as needed for patient care
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Radiology required
  • Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) General Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) required upon hire
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required within 12 months of hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved course in Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
  • Minimum of two (2) years of CT experience in an acute care hospital setting desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical, diagnostic, and emergency procedures related to Diagnostic Radiology and CT
  • Ability to be on-call, including weekends and holidays
