Educator Unit Based-Lactation Consultant - Post-Partum

Responsible for collaborative assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and consultation of educational activities at the unit level in a 24/7 environment. Develops, maintains, and enhances clinical, educational, and leadership skills of nursing and allied health personnel. Acts as a resource to the healthcare team with regard to new policies, procedures, equipment, and healthcare information. This individual facilitates unit-level orientation and education and tracks unit-based clinical competencies of the nursing staff on the unit. Provides leadership through activities such as committee work, community involvement, and participation in research. Bachelor of science in nursing required; MSN preferred.  Minimum three years (3) of recent work experience as a registered nurse required. Previous experience in clinical area preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required.  Demonstrated skill in education methods and adult learning principles preferred. Current RN licensure in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS)

Lactation Consultant: Assessing patients for lactation needs. Both inpatient and outpatient. Minimum BLC licensure required.
