Job Description

Seeking a EEG Technologist. This position is a Per Diem (as needed) position - to join our team at Northwest Medical Center. Our focus is on high quality patient care through patient assessment, critical thinking skills, time management and teamwork.

 

Summary:

Performs sleep and critically ill bedside EEGs. Can manage EEGs in both a medical/surgical unit as well as in an ICU setting. Knowledgeable of all EEG policies and procedures. Has current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served. Must be competent in performing all EEG procedures. Must be competent in performing care of critical patients. Must demonstrate ability to supervise in a clinical care setting. Must be competent in communication skills that provide clear and accurate information in an appropriate manner within the developmental age range of the patient. Must be able to perform special procedures proficiently as dictated through designated skill level, and have full comprehension of all clinical care that falls under the defined scope of EEG practice.

 

Required:

High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience. American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

 

Preferred:

Graduate of an accredited electroneurodiagnostic technology program (accredited by the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalent). Graduate of CAAHEP Neurodiagnostic program.
