Surgical ICU Patient Care Tech / Secretary (PCT) - Weekend Nights

• Patient Care Tech / Secretary functions as care partner under the direction of Nurse Manager or designee and assists in maintaining a smooth functioning unit.
• The PCT is assigned patient care duties and other tasks by RN/Team Leader.
• Tasks performed are in accordance with department and hospital policies and procedures, may transcribe physician orders, answer telephone, greet and assist people who arrive on the unit, assist with admissions and discharges.
• Makes follow up appointments and schedules procedures for patients.
• Will be assigned patient care tasks in accordance to the Alabama Nurse Practice Act.
