Join our team! Laredo Medical Center’s (LMC) Health Information Management (H.I.M.) Department is currently seeking a Full-Time HIM Tech (Non-Cert) to work at our 326 bed acute care hospital. The hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Read a full position description below.

Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:

The HIM Tech reviews, organizes and evaluates patient medical records for accuracy and completeness. The HIM Tech is responsible for filing and retrieving medical records. Performs essential HIM functions in CERNER, HMS, and other available systems. Perform CERNER QC and validation when required along with indexing and birth certificate functions. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

Applicant's Job Requirements Include:

• Required: High school diploma/GED.
• Required: 0-2 years of related experience
• Preferred: Medical Terminology Course.
• Preferred: Clerical experience and computer knowledge.
• Preferred: 2 years previous HIM experience in an acute care facility over 200 beds.
