  • Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation procedures.
  • Performs pre-operation preparations for the patient's skin, body, and medical equipment.
  • May be required to transport the patient to and from the operating room.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Typically reports to a registered nurse.

Which Qualifications Do You Need? In order to set you up for success, you need the basics of…

  • A graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
  • Must be certified to perform CPR with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work off shifts and pm shifts, take night and weekend call shifts.
  • Strength in orthopedics preferred.
  • Able to cover all specialties daily and on-call.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
