Position Purpose:
The Monitor Technician functions under the direction of the Charge Nurse. This position is responsible for constant surveillance of the central telemetry monitor station for identification and documentation of patient telemetry monitor patterns and interpretation. The Monitor Technician has responsibility to notify assigned nurses of patients’ cardiac monitor rhythm and any changes that require immediate or planned intervention.
Proactively notifies Nursing staff of cardiac rhythm changes.
Responsible for issuing, receiving and cleaning monitoring equipment to hospital staff during assigned shift. Accurately maintains telemetry log during assigned shifts.
