What We Are Looking For: 

Woodland Heights Medical Center Therapy Department is now hiring a full-time, licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to work in our thriving 149-bed acute care hospital. Under the direction and supervision of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants treat patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions.

Which Qualifications Do You Need?  In order to set you up for success, you need the basics of…

• Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Completion of formal education / training from an accredited institution leading to or required for a Physical Therapy Assistant license.
• Physical Therapist Assistant License (PTA) Texas State license
• Basic Life Support by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Duties You'll Perform as a Physical Therapy Assistant at WHMC: 

• The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant shall be responsible for providing, under the direction of licensed Physical Therapist, a full range of age appropriate therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards
• Provides age appropriate treatment according to established goals on the treatment plan and assists the supervising Physical Therapist in reassessing patient's functional status when goals are met or there is a change in patient's condition
• Instructs/educates patients/families in appropriate activities, home programs and referral to community resources utilizing both verbal and written programs
• Documents progress in the medical record and maintains patient records as required
• Communicates with patients, families and all health care professionals required to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care
• Maintains skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care
• Participates in internal and external activities designed to promote awareness of rehabilitation and other health related subject
