Summary:

The Senior Accountant position will work on an individual and team basis within the Financial Reporting department. He or she is responsible for timely and accurate reporting of financial information including the preparation of detailed accounting analyses, reconciliations, both internal and external financial accounting reports and other special projects as assigned. This person will deliver consistent and accurate information on a timely basis. This individual must be able to manage multiple priorities, display an extremely high level of organizational skills and display honesty and integrity when producing, delivering and distributing accurate and detailed financial information. In addition, a high level of confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will primarily perform duties related to the Company’s accounting for claims-based liabilities, debt, intangible assets and monthly/quarterly/annual preparation of internal and external financial statements. Primary duties will include:

  • Supervising staff accountant’s preparation of various reports/analyses, including those related to interest expense, health-claim reserves and outstanding debt;
  • Reviewing and/or preparing account reconciliations on a periodic basis;
  • Maintaining monthly accruals for various accounts including deferred financing fees and health-claim payments;
  • Prepare and maintain schedules on a monthly basis in support of the preparation of the statement of cash flows;
  • Account for debt refinancing transactions as needed;
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting adjustments;
  • Assist in preparing or compiling support for annual integrated audit;
  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare supporting documentation contemporaneously;
  • Perform ad hoc accounting analyses or complete special projects, including those related to financing transactions or acquisitions and divestitures.

Certificates and Licenses: CPA License preferred

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four-year degree in Accounting;
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in an accounting environment required;
  • Experience in preparation of account reconciliations and rollforwards preferred.
