Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital

  • Full Time 6am-6pm
  • Every weekend commitment with weekend premium.

 Who are we?

Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital is a 72-bed facility with all-private rooms, located on a 30-acre medical campus. Accredited by The Joint Commission and a part of Lutheran Health Network, we offer a variety of services, including emergency care, an urgent care center, heart and stroke care, orthopedics, occupational health, rehabilitation services, a sleep center, a wound care center and a cancer care center providing chemotherapy and radiation therapy. KCH has the only emergency department in the county that is an accredited chest pain center and accredited stroke center. We are also the only hospital in the county with inpatient capability. Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager. Associate's degree and a credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). May be expected to maintain a CPR certification. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

 

Experience Required:

Approximately three to six months on the job experience is necessary in order to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of unit and departmental policies and procedures, and to fulfill established quality and quantity standards for the job.

Licensure Required:

Currently licensed in the State of Indiana as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

National Board for Respiratory Care CRT and RRT

Other:

Must have good verbal and written skills necessary in order to instruct and comfort patients and their families, maintain effective contacts with a variety of Hospital personnel, and maintain charting responsibilities.

Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient (infant, child, adolescent, adult or geriatric) served on assigned unit/department.
