The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operations as well as the overall delivery of patient care through promotion of safety and well-being of all patients throughout their assigned departments. They are responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Clinical Nurse Manager will direct and coordinate all nursing care for their assigned unit based on established clinical nursing practice standards. They will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. The clinical nurse manager supports the organization's vision and mission, utilizes knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. They have an understanding of HIPAA policies and procedures, understands the importance of patient safety, and actively participate in patient safety through evidence-based practices.
Nurse managers are responsible for managing human and financial resources; ensuring patient and staff satisfaction; maintaining a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors; ensuring standards and quality of care are maintained; and aligning the unit's goals with the hospital's strategic goals.
Minimum Requirement: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred Requirement: BSN
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana or any other state with evidence of application for Indiana licensure.
BLS required within 30 days of hire
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification upon hire or within 1 year of employment
Strategic Planning - Assists the Unit Director in the implementation of strategic goals and objectives that support the organization’s mission and vision statement.
Staff Management -
Assist and support in all human resource functions for nursing and ancillary staff within their department including hiring, firing, and disciplinary action while maintaining appropriate documentation to ensure compliance with any and all requirements.
Ensures that staffing levels and coverage are adequate to meet patient care requirements.
Evaluates employee performance and maintains systems to provide regular feedback to employees.
Maintains daily payroll and unit productivity to maintain daily standards and accountability

Compliance -Team Member is accountable for areas of responsibility meeting regulatory requirements including but not limited to maintaining annual TB testing, completing annual mandatories (ALC and competency), and maintaining current registration/certification/licensures as appropriate to position requirements, including current cancer-specific certification in the nurse’s specialty by an accredited certification program, or Ongoing education by earning 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours each accreditation cycle (12 per year)
