Directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle and HIM activities. Reviews, designs and implements processes surrounding pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, collections and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Maintains oversight of the digital medical record system for their assigned hospital(s). Performs system analysis and development related to the support of the digital medical records system. Identifies digital record system deficiencies, investigates difficulties and recommends corrective action or needed enhancements to HIM Department. Coordinates and conducts digital medical record system training for hospital(s) Charging Departments, and HIM Department. Responsible for coordinating ongoing training and support as necessary to the appropriate individuals. Demonstrates working knowledge of HIM principles as it pertains to workflow, compliance, data integrity, HIPAA privacy and security and record retention. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the Market HIM Director. Bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. RHIT certification Preferred.
